mobileNXT
mobileNXT consists of three primary components: the ‘mobileNXT backoffice’, the ‘mobileNXT mobile app’ and the ‘Customer app’.
mobileNXT backoffice is a modern web application which consists of different modules that provide information and maintenance features for a variety of users. This web application is primarily intended for planners, team leaders, dispatchers and transport managers within an organisation. The web application provides real-time and detailed insight into the progress of planned routes and the registered results. In addition, the user is actively informed of possible delays, incidents and exceptions.
The second component of mobileNXT is the mobile app. Like the web application, the app offers various features that are specifically aimed at users who are working in the field. The application is fully integrated with mobileNXT backoffice and shares the same common technological components.
The customer app is the third component that allows recipients to check the status of their shipments and to register returns. This app is available in AppStore. The app has a platform-independent set-up and can be used on consumer devices (including Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Sony and Huawei) as well as on industrial systems (including Honeywell, Zebra and M3).

Management by exception
As soon as an issue occurs with regard to a shipment, activity or planning, the backoffice receives an alert. This alert contains a short description of the problem, allowing a backoffice employee to immediately resolve the issue.
Mobile forms
Many companies have a need to make their work as paperless as possible. Digital forms are the solution for this. mobileNXT comprises a module for mobile forms that does not involve any complex and costly IT-projects. mobileNXT allows employees to design forms (without requiring any IT skills) and have them exported and imported from a mobile device. Using real-time data ensures that results are immediately visible in the mobileNXT web application. The manager of the forms can create new forms when necessary. These forms can optionally be linked to an activity in the driver’s distribution process.

Loading, delivery & pick up
The Loading, Delivery & Pick Up feature is used to support and check these processes. During loading, the driver is informed about the total number of shipments and load carriers to be loaded. A scanner is used to ensure that the correct items are loaded. This process registers the date and time and the GPS position. A similar activity exists for delivery and collection of shipments.
mobileNXT makes the delivery and collection of products and packaging much easier. After all, quantities are known in advance and can, therefore, be planned. The user can simply increase or decrease the quantities in the list of products and/or packaging. In some processes, such as the delivery and collection of products, it is desirable to enter a digital signature to confirm receipt or issue of goods.
Exceptions & Notifications
When irregularities occur, the driver can register exceptions during the process. This is possible on four levels:
- Route;
- Stop;
- Activity;
- Item (load carrier/shipment carrier/parcel).
All exceptions are sent to the backoffice in real time, where the information can be viewed by a planner.
At a number of points in the logistics process a notification can be sent, for example a text message or e-mail that is sent when the expected arrival time at the customer’s address is within the next couple of hours.
